Jordan (spr. schordāng), Camille, franz. Politiker, geb. 1771 in Lyon, gest. 1821 in Paris, nahm 1793 an der Erhebung Lyons gegen das Schreckensregiment teil, hielt sich bis 1794 im Ausland auf, ward 1796 in den Rat der Fünfhundert gewählt und machte sich als liberaler Politiker durch ein ausgezeichnetes Referat über die Kultusfreiheit bekannt. Nach dem Staatsstreich vom 18. Fructidor geächtet, kehrte er erst 1800 nach Frankreich zurück und hielt sich unter dem Kaiserreich von der Politik fern. 1816 ward er in die Deputiertenkammer gewählt und bald darauf in den Staatsrat berufen, aber 1819 wegen seiner liberalen Gesinnungen aus diesem wieder ausgeschlossen. Er gehörte fortan zur Opposition in der Kammer und vertrat eine gemäßigt freiheitliche Richtung. Er schrieb mehrere bedeutende Tagesschriften, wie: »Histoire de la conversion d'une dame parisienne« (Par. 1792, eine Satire auf die konstitutionelle Kirche), »Vrai sens du vote national sur le consulat à vie« (1802) u. a., und übersetzte mehrere Werke Klopstocks und Schillers. Seine vortrefflichen »Discours politiques« erschienen 1826.
