Fabricĭus Hildānus

Fabricĭus Hildānus (Wilhelm Fabry), Chirurg, geb. 25. Juni 1560 in Hilden bei Düsseldorf, gest. 14. Febr. 1634, studierte in Köln und lebte als Arzt in Lausanne, Payerne (Kanton Waadt) und seit 1614 in Bern. Er erwarb sich große Verdienste um die Chirurgie, indem er die Notwendigkeit des Studiums der Anatomie darlegte, und schrieb: »De gangraena et sphacelo« (Köln 1593); »De combustionibus« (Basel 1607); »Kurze Beschreibung der Fürtrefflichkeit, Nutz und Notwendigkeit der Anatomey« (Bern 1624); »Lithotomia vesicae« (Basel 1626); »Observationum et curationum chirurgicarum centuriae« (Lyon 1641, wiederholt Genf 1669, Straßb. 1713).
