Lohman

Lohman, Alexander Frederik de Savornin, niederländ. Staatsmann, geb. 29. Mai 1837 in Groningen, studierte daselbst und war bis 1884 Richter in Appingedam und Herzogenbusch. Er war Mitarbeiter am neuen Strafgesetzbuch, wurde 1879 Mitglied der Zweiten, 1892 der Ersten, 1894 wieder der Zweiten Kammer, war 1884–96 Professor an der neuerrichteten freien Universität in Amsterdam und 1890 Minister des Innern im antirevolutionär-katholischen Ministerium Mackay, das 1891 fiel. L. ist der Leiter der freien (nicht völlig mit Kuyper zusammengehenden) antirevolutionären, bez. konservativen Partei und der calvinistischen Bewegung in der niederländischen reformierten Kirche. Er veröffentlichte Reden und Schriften juridisch-theologischen und politischen Inhalts, unter anderm »Onse Constitutie« (Amsterd. 1902).
