Grotenfelt

Grotenfelt, Gustaf von, finnländ. Historiker und Politiker, geb. 27. April 1861 zu Helsingfors, wurde daselbst 1887 Dozent der Geschichte und spielte im politischen Leben Finnlands seit 1888 als einer der wenigen adligen Fennomanen (s. d.) des Ständelandtags eine Rolle. Seine Hauptschriften sind: »über Finnlands Handel und Städte unter den ersten Wasakönigen« (finn., Helsingf. 1887); »Handlingar till belysande af Finlands kamerala förhållanden på 1500 talet« (das. 1892–99, 3 Tle.); »Jakob Teitts klagomålsregister emot adeln i Finland ar 1555–1556« (das. 1894); »Geschichte Finnlands im Reformationszeitalter 1521–1617« (finn., Jyväskylä 1902). Als Mitherausgeber der Zeitschrift »Valvoja« verficht G. seit 1885 eifrig die Anwendung des Finnischen auch in der historischen Fachliteratur. Unter dem Pseudonym Leimu veröffentlichte er 1884, 1889 und 1892 Sammlungen finnischer Poesie und 1888 ein Heft eigner Gedichte.
