Podophyllum

Podophyllum, Gattung der Berberidazeen, ausdauernde Kräuter mit kriechendem Wurzelstock, handförmig gespaltenen, schildförmigen, selten dreizähligen Blättern, einzeln oder in Trugdolden stehenden Blüten und fleischigen Beeren mit zahlreichen Samen. Fünf Arten in Asien und Amerika. P. peltatum L. (Fußblatt, Entenfuß, wilde Zitrone, Maiapfel, Mandrake, s. Tafel »Arzneipflanzen III«, Fig. 2). P. Emodi Wall., auf dem Himalaja, wird wie die vorige der ansehnlichen Blüte halber als Zierpflanze kultiviert.
