Pilocárpus

Pilocárpus Vahl, Gattung der Rutazeen, kleine Bäume oder Sträucher mit gegenständigen, abwechselnden oder wirtelständigen, ganzen oder unpaarig gefiederten, lederigen oder krautigen, ganzrandigen Blättern, end- oder achselständigen langen Ähren oder Trauben mit kleinen grünen Blüten und muschelförmigen, zweiklappigen, einsamigen Früchten. Etwa 13 tropisch-amerikanische Arten, deren bekannteste, P. pinnatifolius Lem., die Jaborandiblätter liefert (s. Tafel »Arzneipflanzen III«, Fig. 3, mit Text).
