Munychĭa

Munychĭa (Munichia), ein mit einer Burg versehener, 86 m hoher Hügel beim alten Athen, der die drei Häfen der Piräischen Halbinsel, Piräeus, Zea und Munychia (jetzt Porto Phanari), beherrschte, daher strategisch von großer Wichtigkeit. Daselbst wurde im Monat Munychion (s. d.) der Artemis Munychia, einer Mondgöttin, das Fest der Munychien gefeiert.
