Moleskin

Moleskin (engl., spr. mōl-ßkĭn, »Maulwurfsfell«, Englisch Leder), starkes Baumwollengewebe zum Einbinden der Geschäftsbücher, zu Bandagen und zu Arbeitshofen, oft auch mit den Wollenstoffen ähnlichen Mustern bedruckt, mit 27–40 Fäden auf 1 cm aus Baumwollengarnen Nr. 14–16 engl., Bindung s. Abbildung. Halbwollener M. hat einen Einschlag aus Streichgarn.

In Österreich versteht man unter M. einen seinen, dichten, geschornen und gefärbten Barchent, in England seine baumwollene Westenstoffe mit Muster aus feinster Wolle.
