Lignitz, Viktor von, preuß. General, geb. 21. März 1841 in Küstrin, im Kadettenkorps erzogen, trat 1858 als Leutnant beim 37. Regiment ein, ward 1866 Oberleutnant und machte den böhmischen Feldzug mit, war 1866–67 Regimentsadjutant im 82. Regiment, kam 1867 zur Landesvermessung und war im französischen Kriege 1870/71 Hauptmann im Generalstab des 9. Korps, wurde 1874 Major und geadelt und 1876 Militärattaché in Petersburg. Seit 1881 Oberstleutnant, wurde er 1885 Oberst und Kommandeur des 26. Regiments, 1888 Chef des Stabes beim 11. Armeekorps, 1889 Generalmajor und 1890 Kommandeur der 15. Infanteriebrigade, 1891 Generalleutnant und Kommandeur der 11. Division und 1896 kommandierender General des 3. Armeekorps und General der Infanterie, als welcher er Anfang 1903 unter Ernennung zum Chef des Füsilierregiments Nr. 37 zur Disposition gestellt wurde. L. schrieb »Aus drei Kriegen 1866, 1870/71, 1877/78« (Berl. 1904) u. »Zur Hygiene des Krieges« (das. 1905).
