Keeling

Keeling (spr. kī-). Elsa D'Esterre, engl. Sie begann ihre schriftstellerische Tätigkeit 1884 mit den humoristischen Erzählungen »Three sisters: a highly original family« und »Bib and tucker: recollections of an infant in arms«, dem noch im selben Jahre »How the first Queen of England was wooed and won« folgte, mit dem Gegenstück »A professor's wooing« (1886). Reizende Kindergeschichten veröffentlichte K. in »Orchardscroft« (1892) und in »Old maids and young« (1895). Jahrhunderts in »The Queens serf« (1898) hatte sie weniger Glück. Beifällige Aufnahme fand die Anthologie »The music of the poets: Musicians birthday book« (3. Aufl. 1898).
