Helenīn

Helenīn (Alantkampfer) C6H, 9O findet sich in der Alantwurzel (von Inula Helenium), bildet farb- und geruchlose Kristallnadeln, ist leicht löslich in heißem Alkohol und in Äther, in fetten und ätherischen Ölen, kaum in Wasser, verflüchtigt sich mit Wasserdampf, schmilzt bei 100°, siedet unter Zersetzung bei 275–280° und gibt mit konzentrierter Salpetersäure Nitrohelenin. H. wird als antiseptisches Mittel und bei Malaria, Tuberkulose, katarrhalischen Diarrhöen, Keuchhusten, chronischer Bronchitis empfohlen. H. auch soviel wie Inulin.
