Gautama (Gotama), Eigenname des Stifters der buddhistischen Religion (s. Buddhismus); G. auch angeblicher Verfasser eines Dharmasûtra (s. Sanskrit), das von Stenzler u. d. T.: »The institutes of G.« (Lond. 1876) herausgegeben ist.
