Droitwich

Droitwich (spr. dreutĭtsch), Stadt (municipal borough) in Worcestershire (England), am Salwarpe, mit 3 Kirchen und (1901) 4201 Einw., ist seit den frühesten Zeiten durch ihre ergiebigen Salzquellen berühmt, die durch künstliche Verdampfung ca. 60,000 Ton. Salz liefern und auch zu Solbädern benutzt werden. In der Nähe liegen die Schlösser Westwood Park und Hadzor House (letzteres mit Kunstschätzen), weiter die Stoke Works mit bedeutender Salzproduktion.
