Castleton (spr. kaßlt'n), 1) Städtchen im wildesten Teil des Peak (s.d.) von Derbyshire in England, hat Bleigruben und (1891) 2013 Einw. Dabei Reste des von Peveril erbauten Peakschlosses und die Peakhöhle; etwas weiter die Speedwellhöhle und die Blue John-Mine, zu der man durch einen senkrechten Schacht gelangt, beide mit Kristallbildungen. – 2) Fabrikstadt in Lancashire (England), nahe bei Rochdale, mit (1891) 4857 Einw.
