Welschinger, Henri, franz. Schriftsteller, geb. 2. Febr. 1846 zu Müllersholz im Elsaß, lebt in Paris als Chef eines Bureaus beim Senat. Er verfaßte einige Gedichte, wendete sich aber bald literargeschichtlichen und historischen Studien zu und schrieb unter anderm: »Le théâtre de la Révolution 1789–1799« (1880); »Les bijoux de Mme. du Barry« (1881); »La censure sous le Premier Empire« (1882); »Les Almanachs de la Révolution« (1881); »Le duc d'Enghien 1772–1804« (1888); »Le divorce de Napoleon« (1889); »Le roman de Dumouriez« (1890); »Le maréchal Ney 1815« (1893); »Aventures de guerre et d'amour du baron de Cormatin« (1895); »Le roi de Rome« (1897); »Bismarck« (1900); »Sainte Odile, patronne d'Alsace« (1901); »Le Pape et l'Empereur, 1804–1815« (1905); »Strasbourg« (in der Sammlung »Les villes d'art célèbres«, 1905).
