Strambotto

Strambotto, metrische Form der italienischen Liebeslyrik volkstümlichen Ursprungs, deren Name wohl von strambo (krumm, abweichend) herkommt, weil je zwei aufeinanderfolgende Verse nicht reimten. Auf Sizilien entstanden, ging sie im 15. Jahrh. in die Kunstdichtung über. In der ältesten Gestalt besteht das S. aus einer Strophe von 8 Elfsilbern in der Reimfolge a b a b a b a b. In Toskana wurde daraus a b a b c c d d und weiter a b a b a b c c von den Kunstdichtern bevorzugt. Manchmal hat das S. auch 10 Verse, in Toskana oft nur 6: a b a b c c. Diese Form und die zweite heißt hier auch rispetto wegen der Verehrung, die der Sänger damit seiner Geliebten erweist. Nach der ersten Hälfte des 16. Jahrh. verschwindet das S. aus der Kunstdichtung, und erst jüngst findet es auch hier neue Ausnahme. Vgl. Ortolani, Studio riassuntivo sullo S. (Feltre 1898).
