Serlo, Albert, Bergbeamter, geb. 14. Febr. 1824 in Krossen a. O., gest. 14. Nov. 1898 in Charlottenburg, studierte seit 1845 in Berlin, wurde 1851 Bergreferendar und Salinenfaktor in Königsborn bei Unna, 1856 Bergassessor und Bergmeister beim Bergamt in Bochum und 1858 Oberbergrat beim Oberbergamt in Dortmund. Seit 1861 war er Vorsitzender der Bergwerksdirektion in Saarbrücken, 1865 trat er als Hilfsarbeiter in die Bergwerksabteilung des Handelsministeriums, ging aber 1866 als Berghauptmann nach Breslau und kehrte 1878 als Oberberghauptmann und Direktor der Abteilung für das Berg-, Hütten- und Salinenwesen im Handelsministerium nach Berlin zurück. 1877 wurde er ins Abgeordnetenhaus gewählt, dem er bis 1885 angehörte, 1878 war er Vorsitzender der Eisen-Enquetekommission und 1881 der Schlagwetterkommission. 1884 trat er in den Ruhestand. Er schrieb: »Leitfaden zur Bergbaukunde« (4. Aufl., Berl. 1884, 2 Bde.); »Beiträge zur Geschichte des schlesischen Bergbaues in den letzten 100 Jahren« (Bresl. 1869).
