Bassāni, Giovanni Battista, Komponist, geb. 1657 in Padua, gest. 1716 in Ferrara, wo er seit 1690 Kathedralkapellmeister war, ausgezeichneter Violinist und einer der gediegensten Instrumentalkomponisten vor Corelli, der sein Schüler war (zwei- bis vierstimmige Kammersonaten, aber auch viele Kantaten und kirchliche Gesangswerke).
