Queen's Counsel

Queen's Counsel (spr. kwīns kaunßël, »königlicher Rat«), unter der Königin Viktoria in England eine Klasse von Barristers (s. d.), die durch königliches Patent auf Vorschlag des Lords Chancellor ernannt werden, und deren voller Titel lautet »One of her Majesty's Counsel learned in the law«. Aus der Mitte dieser Q. werden nach ständigem Herkommen die Kronanwälte gewählt. Gegenwärtig heißt dieser Rat King's Counsel. Vgl. Schuster, Die bürgerliche Rechtspflege in England (Berl. 1887).
