Plassey (spr. plassī: eigentlich Palassi oder Palashi), Schlachtfeld am Bhagirathifluß in der britischind. Provinz Bengalen, Distrikt Naddiya, unter 23°47' nördl. Br. und 88°' 18' östl. L., historisch merkwürdig durch den Sieg der Engländer unter Lord Clive 23. Juni 1757 über den Nuwab Surâj ed-Daulah, wodurch jene in den Besitz von Bengalen kamen. Clive erhielt dafür 1762 den Titel Baron von P. Das Schlachtfeld ist seitdem vom Fluß bis auf wenige Reste weggewaschen worden.
