Peeblesshire

Peeblesshire (spr. pībls-schīr, Tweeddale), Grafschaft im südlichen Schottland, den obern Teil des Tweedtals umfassend, wird von den Grafschaften Edinburg, Selkirk, Dumfries und Lanark eingeschlossen und hat ein Areal von 922 qkm (16,79 QM.) mit (1901) 15,066 Einw. (16 auf 1 qkm). Hauptstadt ist Peebles.
