Parōle

Parōle (franz., »Wort«), die oft mit dem Aufziehen der Wache (Wachtparade) verbundene Versammlung aller Offiziere und Unteroffiziere der Garnison (Paroleausgabe) oder bloß der Adjutanten und Feldwebel zur Ausgabe der täglichen Befehle (Parolebefehl), die in die Befehlsbücher (Parolebücher) eingetragen werden. Daher sagt man auch: »zur P. gehen«. Im Wachtdienst das den Rondeoffizieren, Patrouillenführern etc. mitgeteilte und abverlangte, nur noch wenig gebräuchliche Erkennungswort. Vgl.
