Pagi

Pagi (spr. -schi), Anton, kath. Kirchenhistoriker, geb. 31. Mai 1624 zu Rogno in der Provence, gest. 5. Juni 1699 in Aix, trat 1641 in den Franziskanerorden, in dem er viermal die Stellung eines Provinzials bekleidete. Seine »Critica historico-theologica in universos annales ecclesiasticos em. et rev. Caesaris Card. Baronii«, von der 1689 in Paris der erste Band erschien, hat nach seinem Tode sein Neffe Franz P. (geb. 7. Sept. 1654 zu Lambese in der Provence, gest. 21. Jan. 1721 in Gent), ebenfalls Franziskaner, vollendet (Antwerp. 1705, 4 Bde.) und in verbesserter Gestalt neu herausgegeben (das. 1727, 4 Bde.). Derselbe verfaßte auch eine bis 1447 reichende Papstgeschichte, betitelt: »Breviarium historico-chronologico-criticum« (Antwerp. 1717–27, 4 Bde.).
