Lubbock

Lubbock (spr. löbb-), Sir John, seit 1899 Lord Avebory, Naturforscher, geb. 30. Er schrieb: »Prehistoric times, as illustrated by ancient remains and the manners and customs of modern savages« (1865, 6. Aufl. 1900; deutsch von Passow, Jena 1874, 2 Bde.); »The origin of civilization and the primitive condition of man« (1870, 6.
