Kirkcaldy (spr. körkaodĭ, d. h. Kirk [Kirche] der Culdeers, s. Kuldeer), Hafenstadt (royal burgh) in der schott. Grafschaft Fife, am Firth of Forth, bildet mit Dysart (s. d.) eine Stadt und hat eine Freikirche (St. Brycedale) im altenglischen Stil (seit 1881), stattliche öffentliche Gebäude (neuer Gerichtshof, mehrere halls), eine Hochschule (1895), bedeutende Leinenindustrie, Fabrikation von Linoleum, Ton- und Eisenwaren und (1901) 22,331 Einw. Die in der Gegend gewonnenen Steinkohlen und Bausteine bilden den Hauptgegenstand der Ausfuhr. Zum Hafen gehörten 1903: 24 Seeschiffe von 1302 Ton. Gehalt und 516 Fischerboote. 1903 liefen 3385 Schiffe von 1,548,106 T. ein. Ausfuhr nach dem Ausland 1903: 1,390,820, Einfuhr 309,990 Pfd. Sterl. K. ist Geburtsort von Adam Smith. Es ist Stadt seit 1070.
