Introïtus

Introïtus (lat.), »Eingang«, besonders zu Musikstücken; im katholischen Gottesdienst der Anfang der Messe (im Ambrosianischen Ritus Ingressa genannt), ursprünglich ein ganzer Psalm, der vom Sängerchor gesungen wurde, später aber gekürzt; an den Psalm schloß sich, wechselweise vom Geistlichen und vom Chor angestimmt, das »Gloria patri et filio«, und danach folgte die Antiphonie. Jetzt betet der Priester den I. selbst in jeder Messe.
