Hadrumētum

Hadrumētum, alte tyrische Stadt an der Küste Nordafrikas, südlich von Karthago gelegen und älter als dieses, war seit Trajan römische Kolonie und seit dem 4. Jahrh. n. Chr. Hauptstadt der Provinz Byzacena. Noch unter den oströmischen Kaisern bedeutend und von Justinian neu befestigt, wurde sie Justiniana genannt. Heute heißt sie Susa.
