Androclus, ein Sklave, der, in die afrikanische Wüste entflohen, einem Löwen den Fuß heilte, später eingefangen und zum Tierkampf verurteilt, von dem ebenfalls gefangenen Löwen in der Arena erkannt und dankbar geliebkost wurde.
