Grahamstown (spr. grē-ĕmstaun), 1) Hauptstadt der Division Albany in der britischen Kapkolonie, unter 33°10´ südl. Br., 43 km vom Meer, durch Eisenbahn mit Port Elizabeth, Graaf Reinet und Port Alfred verbunden, ist Sitz eines Bischofs, hat ein Museum, Bibliothek, einen botanischen Garten, Hospital und (1891) 10,498 meist weiße Einwohner. – 2) (Thames) Stadt auf der Nordinsel von Neuseeland, in der Provinz Auckland, am Firth of Thames, mit Hospital, Bergwerksschule, Bibliothek, Fischerei und (1901) 4004 Einw. In der Nähe liegen die Thames-Goldfelder.
