Fināle, 1) Stadt in der ital. Provinz Genua, Kreis Albenga, besteht aus dem an der Mündung des Küstenflusses Porra ins Ligurische Meer und an der Eisenbahn Genua-Nizza gelegenen F. Marina, mit Hafen, Kalkbruch und (1901) 2879 Einw., dem östlich davon gelegenen F. Pia, mit Ölpressen und (1901) 1810 Einw., und dem nördlich landeinwärts auf einem Hügel gelegenen F. Borgo, mit einem Kastell, Zivil- und Korrektionstribunal, Gymnasium, Technischer Schule, Öl- und Weinbau und (1901) etwa 2000 (als Gemeinde 3386) Einw. In den nahen Höhlen wurden vorgeschichtliche Funde gemacht. F. war seit dem spätern Mittelalter Hauptort eines Marchesats, das einem Zweige der Familie Carretto gehörte. Später kam es an Spanien und wurde 1712 an Genua verkauft, durch den Aachener Frieden aber mit Sardinien vereinigt. Im Spanischen Erbfolgekriege siegten hier die Kaiserlichen unter Starhemberg über die Franzosen (9. Juni 1702). – 2) (F. nell'Emilia) Stadt in der ital. Provinz Modena, Kreis Mirandola, am Panaro und der Eisenbahn Modena-F., mit Gymnasium, Seidenindustrie, Viehhandel und (1901) etwa 4500 (als Gemeinde 12,798) Einw.
