Eccles (spr. éckels, Ecclesia), anmutig gelegene Stadt (municipal borough) in Lancashire (England), am Irwell, 6 km westlich von Manchester, mit vielen Landsitzen und gotischer Marienkirche, treibt Baumwollindustrie und hat mit den einverleibten Orten Barton, Winton und Monton (1901) 34,369 Einw. Im benachbarten Patricroft sind berühmte Eisenwerke, Seiden- und Baumwollspinnerei.
