Covilhã (spr. kōwiljáng'), Stadt im portug. Distrikt Castello Branco (Beira), »das portugiesische Manchester«, 664 m ü. M., am Ostabhang des Estrellagebirges, an der Eisenbahn Abrantes-Guarda, hat ein Kastell, bedeutende Tuchfabriken und (1900) 17,500 Einw. In der Nähe warme Mineralquellen.
