Chiewitz, Poul, dän. Schriftsteller, geb. 1817, gest. 1854 in Kopenhagen, veröffentlichte Romane wie »Von der Straße« (1847) und »Japhet« (1852) und, zusammen mit A. v. d. Recke, die Lustspiele »Eine höhere Erziehungsanstalt« (1850), »Ein Vorleben« (1853) und das immer noch populäre »Im Ernst« (1851), die in französisch frivolem Stil, aber nicht ohne Witz und Frische die offizielle Moral, die hohle Respektabilität und konventionelle Bildung geißeln.
