Advaita

Advaita (sanskr.), Nichtdualismus, Monismus. So heißt das Vedântasystem (s. Indische Philosophie), insonderheit in der streng mon istischen Gestalt, die ihm der große Lehrer Çankara (um 800 n. Chr.) gegeben hat, während die Lehre des Ramânudscha (12. Jahrh. n. Chr.), nach der das all-eine Brahma in sich selbst Elemente der Vielheit trägt, als viçishta-advaita (qualifizierter Nichtdualismus) bezeichnet wird. Vgl.
