Trichoplax

Trichoplax Schulze, ein im Seewasser lebendes bewimpertes Tier, das eine mehrschichtige Zellenplatte bildet, im übrigen jedoch von unregelmäßiger Gestalt ist und sich nur durch Teilung vermehrt, soweit bis jetzt bekannt ist; es wurde von F. E. Schulze im Aquarium des Grazer Zoologischen Instituts entdeckt. T. wurde häufig mit den Dicyemiden, Orthonektiden u. a. als Mesozoon zwischen Protozoen und Metazoen gestellt. Vgl. F. E.
