Thanksgiving-day (engl., spr. thänksgiwwing-dē, »Danksagungstag«), der Nationalfeiertag in den Vereinigten Staaten von Nordamerika, durch Gottesdienst in allen Kirchen gesetzlich gefeiert. Das Datum wird alljährlich vom Präsidenten besonders festgesetzt (gewöhnlich der letzte Donnerstag im November). Vgl. Schauffer, Thanksgiving, its origin, etc. (New York 1907).
