Tewkesbury (spr. tjūksbĕrĭ), Stadt (municipal borough) in Gloucestershire (England), am Zusammenfluß des Avon und des Severn, hat eine schöne normannische Abteikirche (1874–79 restauriert, Grabstätte des 1477 ermordeten Herzogs von Clarence und seiner Gattin), Fabrikation von Weißwaren, eine schöne Markthalle, Kornbörse und (1901) 5419 Einw. 1 km südlich davon die »blutige Wiese«, wo 4. Mai 1471 Eduard IV. die Königin Margarete, Gemahlin Heinrichs VI., entscheidend besiegte.
