Tarsus [1]

Tarsus (lat.), die Fußwurzel, d. h. die Knochen am Anfang des Fußes (s. Fuß, S. 227). Bei den Insekten ist T. oder Fuß der letzte Abschnitt des Beines und besteht selbst wieder meist aus fünf Gliedern; das letzte von diesen trägt gewöhnlich zwei Klauen oder Krallen, oft auch noch sogen. Haftlappen.
