Safata (Safatu, Safotu), Bucht an der Südküste der Samoainsel Upolu (s. d.) im Stillen Ozean. An ihr besteht eine evangelische und eine kath. Missionsstation. Im Hinterlande liegen die Pflanzungen der Safata-Samoa-Gesellschaft in Berlin, die am 5. Dez. 1903 begründet wurde und 1906 ihr Kapital von 800,000 Mk. um 500,000 Mk. zu erhöhen gedachte; sie treibt Kakao- und Kautschukkultur.
