Bachelet (spr. baschlä), Jean Louis Théodore, franz. Geschichtschreiber, geb. 1820 in Pissy-Pôville (Niederseine), gest. 24. Sept. 1879 in Rouen, wurde, nachdem er an mehreren Lyzeen die Geschichtsprofessur bekleidet, zum Professor am Lyzeum in Rouen sowie zum Bibliothekar der Stadt ernannt. Er verfaßte zahlreiche Unterrichtsschriften historischen Inhalts. Mit Dezobry gab er ein »Dictionnaire de biographie et d'histoire« (12. Aufl. von Darsy, 1902, 2 Bde.) und ein »Dictionnaire général des lettres, des beauxarts et des sciences morales et politiques« (7. Aufl. 1902, 2 Bde.) heraus.
