Parabolāni

Parabolāni (griech., »Wagehälse«) hießen im Sprachgebrauch der alten griechischen Kirche die Krankenwärter, die vom Kaiser Theodosius I. zum Klerus gerechnet, in den Hauptstädten starke Genossenschaften bildeten und sich oft in roher Weise in die kirchlichen Streitigkeiten mischten.
