Oscŭlum

Oscŭlum (lat.), »der liturgische Kuß«, als Zeichen der Ehrerbietung, Verehrung und Liebe angewendet bei Gegenständen (Altar, Patene, Stola, Kruzifix, Reliquien etc.) und als o. pacis oder pax (Friedenskuß, s. d.) bei Personen (auf Hand oder Wange, oft bloßes Umfangen mit leichter Kopfneigung). Hierher gehört auch das o. reverentiale als Ringkuß beim Bischof und Fußkuß beim Papst.
